Marriage License*
You are engaged and you have a lot of planning to do! But don't
forget about the legal aspect of your upcoming marriage! Here's
a list of considerations for obtaining your marriage license in
Missouri. |

Both you and your fiancé should be present
to apply for your marriage license in the State of Missouri.

Applicants do not have to be residents of Missouri.
|
| 3. |
The marriage license fee is $48 plus $1 for each parental consent if required. The fee must be paid in cash only.
|
| 4. |
Legal age for marrying in Missouri is 18. If either
you or your fiancé is under 18, special requirements apply.

| 5. |
You will be required to show a valid driver's license
from any state. Be prepared to present your social security card
if your number is not on your license. Even if the county does not
require it, you should always bring a second form of ID ... just
in case. |

If either of you is divorced or widowed, you must present the
date and place of divorce and type of divorce court, or date and
place of death. In Missouri, a divorce must be final for
at least 30 days before another marriage license will be issued.

In Missouri, there is a 3 day waiting period between the time application is made and the license is issued. Only the bride or groom may pick up the license unless prior arrangements have been made at the time of application. The 3 day waiting period can be waived if the couple has proof of premarital counseling.

Your marriage license is valid for 30 days from issuance and is valid throughout the state of Missiouri.
